OMG…I love this knife. I am a female and this little knife is absolutely wonderful!!! There is a metal clip on the backside and I wear it almost everyday. It clips on easy and because the knife is so slim and compact, folks can rarely tell I even have it on me. I generally clip it to the waistband of my pants or shorts but due to its size, it could easily be clipped to pants or some shirt pockets.

Great knife to have on the water

I purchased this knife to keep on my PFD while kayaking. So far I haven’t needed to use it in a “pinch” but it has been handy cutting down tangled fishing line to dispose of properly. The blade shape is great for reaching out and “grabbing” what you want to cut. With nearly 100 miles of paddling in brackish water and barely any maintenance the knife is showing no signs of rust at all. Since it is literally tied to my vest and I stand no chance of loosing it, I am certain I will have this knife with me for years of faithful service to come.

Great knife, but………

It really depends upon your tasks for any knife. This one is terrific for opening those horrid hard plastic clamshell display packages so many things come in. It’s big enough to keep your hands away from the sharp plastic when you’re cutting it open, and sturdy enough you don’t worry about it like with a crappy box opener, and shaped so you don’t cut the item you’re trying to free from it’s plastic prison. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve cut myself on the plastic of the container and not the knife or box cutter — just getting the dang item out of the package. These are so terrific I consider them great gifts — but only to those who can appreciate their cost/value. Also great for many other everyday tasks — but not ALL. I don’t expect one tool to do all things, same with shape of a knife. That’s why so many kitchen knives for different purposes. You don’t have to be a “knife person” to appreciate the fact that these don’t rust and cut through that hard plastic like butter!

Another example of excellent quality control from Spyderco

Third knife from Spyderco for me; Endura 4 w/ wave, Ladybug, and now the Tasman in H1 serrated. I got this knife because I needed a blade that I didn’t have to worry about bringing near or working near water. I was leaning towards the ceramic blade scene until (thankfully) I found Spyderco’s Salt series in H1 steel. Unlike other steels with carbon in them this steel has nitrogen, making is completely rust proof as well as being a work-hardened steel. Meaning the edge supposedly gets stronger over use, but only noticed in the serrated versions so I hear.

This knife is perfect for the avid outdoorsman

This knife is perfect for the avid outdoorsman. I purchased it for sailing because it has a protective coating that will not allow it to rust in water and it is very sharp. Love the product.

Excellent boating knife that I carry EVERY time I leave the dock. I’ve used it to quickly severe a tow line when the captain (lower case) of the boat I was towing decided to go full throttle once he was ungrounded and the tow line was still attached to both vessels. The curved serrated blade is exceptional for cutting line/netting out of a fouled prop. Another (and probably unintentional) use for this knife is opening fuel/water fill caps. The back of the blade when the knife is closed fits perfectly into the slotted caps and eliminates searching for that single purpose tool.
