They will never be like old ones but will do the job very good
I have 12 different snow and nealley axes from first one at 4yrs old till now . They will never be like old ones but will do the job very good . I can sharpen it like a razar I have scares to show for it . My Dad cousin worked for Snow and Nealley for over 40yrs.
The blade sharpens up nice and the handle is very sturdy
The blade sharpens up nice and the handle is very sturdy. The size and weight seem to be pretty good for me.
Just a great american made axe
Just a great american made axe. Well balanced and holds an edge really well. They did not cut corners here.
Nice Ax! Worth the money
Nice ax, would have given 5 stars, but it did NOT come sharp. Had a nice edge profile to start sharpening process though. Head come coated with poly you will need to remove with paint remover. Top of head is also Painted black.
Perfect size for camping
Perfect size for camping. Held up well with dead dry hardwood. I didn’t have any curling of the edge like other reviews. I was even able to put an edge on it.
worth every penny
I came across the this gem in the Ace Hardware in Clayton, GA where we camp every summer. I eyeballed it for two summers of struggling with a cheap hatchet before making the leap. This camp ax made quick work of splitting bolts of hardwood for campfires. Red oak literally exploded at times with a half swing. In case you’re wondering why this company’s products are twice the going rate, the tools are hand crafted of high carbon steel by American craftsmen in Bangor, Maine. If you’re tired of the the Chinese trash that passes for tools these days, try supporting and American tool company, there are very few left.
Great product. Useable but not sharp out of the box .no flaws on workmanship that I can see.
