We offer the Hudson Bay axe that’s preferred by outdoors men everywhere. Its forged from “fine” grain steel and hand worked to provide you with a look and quality that is second to none. Includes a genuine leather blade guard for your safety.Handle Length: 21″Head Length: 6-3/4″Blade Height: 4″

Snow & Nealley Hudson Bay axe is a hybrid combination between an axe and a tomahawk, made of high carbon steel produced in China, with a hickory handle from Tennessee.  It weighs about 1 pound and 12 ounces, which could put it in a backpacking category and can quite successfully be used to chop branches for starting a fire, skin an animal or chop bone. Snow and Nealley Hudson Bay Axe is perfect for hikers and campers needing the axe to chop firewood. For more than that it may not provide enough support and strength, so consider that before purchasing an axe.

This Hudson Bay Axe has been the standard tool for timber cruisers and other woods workers for 100 years. The quality of this Snow & Kneeley axe is outstanding.

Good axe so far. The blade needs tuning to achieve a really good edge but seems to hold well. The handle could also use a little work by sanding off the finish used and giving it a couple coats of boiled linseed oil. The hickory stock used is strait and good in the axe sent to me but I’ve heard that this could be an issue as well. This is not an axe you would want for any serious felling work. It is a great size for lite backpacking and would be more useful than a kindling axe the back country,as well as a great size axe to keep in your truck. If you are looking for a serious axe go bigger but if you need a middle weight, versatile tool you can’t beat the quality for the price.

Great Camp Axe.

I order this a while ago and wanted to test it out a few time before I write a review. So far I have taken this axe on three backpacking trips. It fit nice on the side of my pack and was worth the little extra weight. It handle every chore I put it to. From cutting fire wood to making shelter. it holds a edge and is easy to sharpen. It will always be a primary peace of equipment in my trips.

Does not come very sharp, but anyone that would know what to do with it would sharpen to the angle or grind of their liking anyway. Just right size, weight, balance, nice little cover of decent quality. Smaller than a boys axe, bigger than a hatchet. Great for bushcraft, woods tromping, camping. Made in th USA!

Fit and finish is nice. Made in MAINE USA. Used it to improve a duck blind and clear sapling type brush for shooting lanes. Small and handy to carry in the woods. I wouldn’t want to split a cord with it but for light work in the woods it’s a keeper.

Easily the best axe I’ve ever owned.

I grew up in a house heated by firewood, so I’ve been splitting and stacking since I was old enough to carry a log. This is an excellent product. Great for splitting seasoned firewood, or felling small to medium boles. Don’t give up the maul and sledge for bigger/wetter pieces.
