Deceptively Effective

This knife is wonderful! I’m one of the last people to get something that looks this “girly,” but there was something about it that appealed to me. It looks cute and innocent, with the pinkish rainbow sheen (mine has a lot more green and blue than the picture), but it’s wicked sharp. Since it is spring-assist, it opens lightning quick and can be deployed instantly for opening boxes or what-have-you. I like carrying mine with the pocket clip, but it comes with a safety lock so you can carry it in your pocket without fear of having it accidentally open. Very essential for the times when I’m wearing dress pants and can’t have a knife showing.

Great buy on a great pocketknife

It took me a long time to accept the notion of paying more than 10 bucks for a knife. This is a great deal, though. Very, very smooth opening and closing action, keeps an edge very well, and is shipped to you super sharp already. What I really like is the ability to keep it on you almost all the time since it is very small and light. You have to be careful opening and closing it the first few times though (read: don’t buy this for your Cub Scout). Overall, definitely the best deal I’ve seen in this price range.

My sister saw this knife in one of my catalogs, and was mesmerized by its finish. I got it for her as part of a Christmas gift and she loved it. I would prefer a bit more grip on it, if it were mine. But she keeps it in her purse for emergencies and occasionally takes it out just to stare at it.

Good thing there are so many different colors and blades …

My fiancé loves this knife so much she isn’t a knife person at all but wears it whenever she has pants on. Only problem is I have had to buy her 3 of them since the airport took one and misplaced second. I have multiple 1600s in all different colors and this one is buy far the coolest looking but wouldn’t want to see a man bust this one out of his pocket! Good thing there are so many different colors and blades for this size. Think I have had most of them besides the gold plated one I just started seeing. I have almost bought it multiple times but I’m not a gold fan so haven’t pulled the trigger. If I see it priced under $50 I may have to give it a shot!

my first Kershaw purchase was a Ken Onion Scallion – the rainbow finish. I bought this as a gift for my niece – I am considering dulling it a bit prior to giving it to her, it is razor sharp. I believe the photo in the description doesn’t show how small this knife actually is. the speedsafe is impressive and springy, the finish is beautiful, the photos don’t really do it justice, it’s a mirror finish – which is both amazing and kind of not at the same time, fingerprints. this knife would be just as lovely in a satin finish handle with a mirror finish blade. no matter, I love it either way.

Sweet little blade the girl will like

Kershaw makes a great blade and this is no exception. Pink so the girl friend will like it and actually carry it on her. I have carried a slightly larger version of this knife on me for years. Assisted action works smooth and crisp. Blade holds a decent edge with small knife every day uses. Feels sturdy, tight and made from quality materials.

Handy, Sleek little knife.

I’m mostly a kitchen knife collector but was so impressed by Kershaw/Shun Ken Onion that I decided to try a style of knife (sport) that is his usual forte. I’m just as impressed with the design of this knife as I was with the Shun/Onion knife. It’s compact, it’s attractive, and sharp enough to shave an arm with. I have the rainbow chive and I am still amazed that as much as I’ve used it, the surface and coloring is still intact and gorgeous. I’m now a believer in Speed Safe, and have my second Ken Onion (leek) on order. 50 dollars for a small pocket knife? (I hear people complaining) Absolutely, it’s well worth the price, but anybody who knows knives knows that the truly good ones are never inexpensive and last a lifetime. You get what you pay for, and this one is well worth it.

This was my third Kershaw Onion. I love these knives!!! they are perfect to carry in your pocket and the single hand spring assist opening is awesome. Unfortunately I’ve worn the spring out in one of my last ones so need to replace it still but this one is for a friend who saw mine and loved it. I’m a 43 year old woman and I always carry one in my pocket. Plain one for work and this rainbow one for dress. Love it, love it, love it.
