The ESEE Junglas knife – Pronounced “Hoonglas” Named After the Colombian Jungla Special Operations Forces. Designed For Latin American Jungle And Counter-Narcotics Operations. ESEE Knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for – especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user’s responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor.

but after a short time I got very used to the size and how useful it is
At first it seems a little bulky, but after a short time I got very used to the size and how useful it is. Replaces an camp axe and most other knives you think you need in the bush. Batoning, fuzz sticks, cutting rope. Keeps a terrific edge. Only problems were a little rusting of the logo and the belt loop will deteriorate after a time, I’d say it’d be best to get a teklok belt clip to go with it and you are going to want to hit the screws on the sheath with some locktite or risk losing them.
Honestly one of the best knives out there! Perfect bushcraft/survival/camp/end of the world do it all knife!
Incredible BEAST of a knife!!! There’s so much good to say about this insanely good camp/survival/end of the world knife! I now see why SO many people swear by ESEE knives! The craftsmanship of these blades is second to none. This is true, good ole American craftsmanship and obviously built by people who are skilled and take great pride in their work. They’re not just throwing junk together and collecting a paycheck.
Great workhorse of a knife. Don’t be afraid to use it.
I did quite a bit of research online through various sources before purchasing. I’ve been very impressed with the knife, and it meets the hype.
Really love this knife
This is a kick ass knife.
The Esee Junglas is the best big knife I own by far! If you are backpacking somewhere and pair this with a lightweight folding saw, it is way more convenient to carry this instead of an ax or a hatchet. For processing firewood, it works wonders. It de-limbs easily and batons very easily, slices through knots like a champ. I used it to baton through a 6-7 inch wide piece of oak and it had no problem. I then processed it down into smaller pieces to start and maintain a fire (about 2 hours of heavy and light batoning) and it remained sharp enough to shave the hair on my arm. The kydex sheath is very nice as well. When hanging it on your belt, it sits nicely but is a little difficult to draw out single handed at first until you get used to it, or you can use a piece of cordage to tie the tip around your leg and not have any problem. The sheath retains the knife very well and I like that you can completely lock it in place with the integral lock. I am very pleased with myself for buying this Esee!
Very large, sharp knife that chops like a champ. Nice Kydex sheath.
This is a very big knife and I enjoy using it. This knife is very sharp and can chop like a champ. It’s too large to carry on your person so I strap it to my backpack. The quality of this knife is top notch and the large Kydex sheath makes this a hard deal to beat. I use this knife for clearing brush, chopping tree limbs and chopping down small trees. This is a knife / machete and is a good companion to a smaller knife when I’m doing my thing in the woods, as the pair covers all bases. The handle is very comfortable and I can maintain a good grip with the micarta grips when chopping at limbs and trees. Esee has an excellent warranty: you break it they replace it, no questions asked and no receipt needed. I researched a lot of large knives and could not find an overall better deal. I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase and with Amazon primes 2 day shipping I ordered on Friday and received it on Sunday.
Love it for bushwhacking around deer camp and never losing …
This is a gift among several I have gifted previously. My personal junglas is the venom green with blaze orange scales. Love it for bushwhacking around deer camp and never losing it. Christmas for my outdoor loving family is always a hit when an Esee knife is opened. This thing is a monster but carries well in an excellent kydeth, ambidextrous system. Yes, lefties are in luck with Esee! A superbly crafted knife with an excellent carry system for either hand, or on a pack. It has molle compatible backing. For those needing a large camp knife, I have found nothing even close to the Esee junglas. I have the entire series split among my hunting, fishing, and camp bags. Perfect for me and my family.
The Batoning Beast, Check.
Id seen many pictures. But my God. This thing is a monster. Will be taking this workhorse with me in/on my day/weekend pack for camping/hiking. Its main duty will be fire prep and secondary will be to build shelter. Chopping and batoning. Fits my XL hands beautifully. This beast paired with my ARS 6.5″ SA-GR17 folding saw, as well as my bark river Aurora LT 3V should be able to give me a whole new world of fire wood options while backpacking in the mountains. This blade is not for the feint of heart. Weights in at just under 1.5lbs w/o the kydex sheath.
Wow! my p*n*s grew 3inchs since purchasing
Wow! my p*n*s grew 3inchs since purchasing. Just kidding but really nice and incredibly balanced. Was real surprised at the fine work I was able to do with this knife that usually smaller blades are better at. This doubles as a machete, hatchet, and survival knife for me. Good at chopping, knife work and splitting. Even the sheath was really good quality. This would be the one Knife I would take into the wilderness that would cover most survival and bushcrafting chores. I even purchased the Esee Accessory pouch and attached it to the sheath and it looks incredible while holding a small survival kit. If I had 30 seconds to bug out I can grab this set-up and nothing else and confidently survive in the woods.
Awesome knife! This thing looks big in the videos and in pictures but DAMN, this is a large blade. As with all ESEE blades, it is wonderfully crafted with a nice edge. A few minutes on my leather strop and it was basically a 10″ razor blade (why dont companies strop their blades?!?! Seriously, 10 minutes!). The sheath is above-average but not without issues. It has some cool features and I love the retainability options on it. It does rattle quite a bit though and I feel they could have made it tighter, like a gun holster or something, those don’t rattle! Knife has good balance, has a better than average sheath and is sharp, what else you need?
