“What is the difference between the scout hawk and the best selling competition throwing tomahawk (ASIN B00A2WHL94)?”

The only difference between these two models is that the scout hawk has a thinner blade. The thinner blade isn’t a bad thing for adult throwers who maybe want to go a little lighter weight when throwing. But this is specifically designed for boy scouts ages 13 and up.

18 inch Scout Tomahawk Hand Forged Throwing Hawk / Axe / Hatchet suitable for young adult & adult throwers (Ages 12+). This tomahawk is slightly lighter (thinner blade) than the Competition Hawk – customized for the Boy Scouts of America.

Balanced for throwing.
* Overall Length: 18 inches
* Blade Edge: 3.75 inches!
* Handle: Straight Grain American Hickory (USA Made)
* Handle Finish: Smooth Sanded & Wax Coated
* Use: Recreational or Competition
* Weight: About 1.4 lbs

Each tomahawk comes with an authentic hand forged & heat treated tomahawk head & an American Hickory straight grain wood handle. Each hawk head is crafted by hand and features unique hammer marks from the blacksmith. Each tomahawk head is unique.

*Note: Be careful, blade edge is sharp!

Hand forged and a bit rough in finish compared to H&B hawks, but at half the price so its an expected tradeoff. Put a little work into them rounding off sharp edges and you have a great throwing hawk.

Great hawk for throwing, we had to sharpen it after a few throws and sand the handle a bit but it worked great. already need a new handle but it is a lot of fun.

I wanted a tomahawk the looked rustic and this one had it. I removed the coating on the head to give it an aged look and refinished the handle with an antique stain. For the price this will be great at the Muzzleloaders shoots.

Wooden handles start to show wear

After a few uses, the wooden shafts get a little splintered, especially if the tomahawk head dislodges. I will need to sand the shafts before letting my kids use them again.

None Better!
