So to start off, this is a KA-BAR, so I’m giving it 5 stars, even though I prefer my straight edged leather grip USMC version. Anyone who’s owned a KA-BAR will immediately know this will be a knife that outlives them, and even outlives their great grand children’s great grand children (assuming it’s properly maintained). You won’t find a better fighting/utility knife. The quality:price ratio is unbeatable. Are there better knives? Of course, but you practically have to sell one of your nuts to afford them. KA-BAR lets you keep both of your nuts, and you get an amazing personal defense weapon.
Great classic knife, but has a sloppy factory edge that will need work

As the other reviews have already covered repeatedly, this is a great knife.
Got mine today. Beautiful knife! Couple cons…not near as sharp as some of the reviews had stated. Also, the serated (spl?) part, the tips are rounded and not straight edge. It suppose to be like that? The case is very nice and the knife fits very snug. I may take it to the local sporting store and ask about getting the blade sharpened and also ask if the rounded serated edges can be sharpened to a point.
My only complaint is that the serrations could be a bit more sturdy as they sometimes take "splash damage" when using the …
Ok story time. When I was hiking in Montana my friends and I found this leg bone of an animal (elk?) that was approximately 3 inches thick. My friend Josh joked that I should try to cut the leg bone in half with my new knife. Not one to back down from a challenge I said sure why not! About 30 seconds of hacking later the bone was in two relatively clean cut pieces, and my KA-BAR was looking at him with a smug look of satisfaction, and not a single dent or chip on the blade beyond some of the black coating flaked off. (For what it’s worth, the coating is there because the knife is made of 1095 steel which is very durable and holds an edge well but tends to discolor so manufacturers prefer to coat the blade).

Great solid knife. Just like my service issued one, just black! A great hand feel, solid metal that shows no sign of wear and tear after taking it through the paces! The arrayed blade tucked in the back comes in handy and won’t dull like other blades. The sheath is solid and has taken quite a few hits and didn’t crack or dent! The knife locks into the sheath just like it should and I look forward to using this knife for years to come!
A classic, updated

The timeless KaBar WW2 USMC classic updated with Kraton grip and a hard plastic (Kydex?) sheath. 7′ Blade, hammer pommel. A great, time-proven design.
This came knife went above my expectations. I wanted a sound knife that would be good during camping, survival and home defense if need be. I don’t see any reason this won’t fully meet all expectation is have. It came to my door sooner than anticipated (despite being very eager to get it). Out of the box, it was razor sharp, nothing you would want a child to get their hands on. When you pick it up, you instantly feel the quality and have confidence in it over the long run. The sheath is very nice, has a minor safety mechanism so a young child would have difficulties getting it out. Once you play with it a couple times, you get a handle on how to quickly remove it from the sheath.
It’s a Ka-Bar!

What can be said about this knife that hasn’t already been said? This knife is a doozy. The weight is fantastic – very well balanced. The grip is comfortable and the knife is full-tang so you know it’s not going to break off at the handle under stress etc. If you’re looking for a quality knife with a lot of history behind it, look no further.
Is it REALLY razor sharp out of the box? YUP! You can shave with it. But don’t. This is a seriously dangerous tool.
DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING IT, JUST BUY IT!! HANDS DOWN THE BEST KNIFE I HAVE EVER OWNED!

What an awesome knife. I was skeptical as to the scabbard because of familiarity with the leather versus the hard plastic. Hands down, the hard, plastic is the way to go. This knife is by far one of the sharpest and most durable I have ever encountered. I highly recommend it and am seriously considering getting another.
